Started as a normal insurance agent, searching to find the right company to join and move forward in my career as an insurance agent. However, one month in I came across another company that fitted me a lot more than Equis Financial. So I started working for this other ***, and it came to contracting with one of the insurance carriers I was contracted with Equis to switch over to this new IMO, Well that's when I learned that just cause they state you are non-captive doesn't mean they hold you hostage for 6 months until you c... read more

Business response:

We are sorry to hear about your experience with Equis Financial. You are correct that Equis is in fact non-captive, but we do abide by carrier guidelines regarding transfers. In some cases, carriers freely allow transfers or dual contracting. In others, the carrier may enforce waiting periods prior to transfer. If you have specific questions, you are always welcome to reach out for further assistance.

Please keep in mind, it's not a scam for a company to try and sell you life insurance or mortgage protection coverage. No one from any company should pretend to be your mortgage holder. Mortgage protection and/or term life insurance can help many people from financial struggles should they become suddenly hurt/unable to work or unexpectedly pass away. Just make sure and do your homework, understand your options and make sure you can afford the additional monthly payment, that could protect your family some day. The agent... read more

Completely unethical scammers. Like other reviews have said they bombard new homeowners with mail that has the mortgage lender and “last notice” or “important” in large font of their mailings to make it seem legitimate however they are just an MLM company trying to sell term life insurance.

I had been getting automated text messages from a one said **** for over three days in a row to set up an appointment for mortgage insurance. He claimed to be an underwriter for my mortgage holder. I finally agreed to talk via phone conversation; his phone number came in identified as spam; initially he sent me a link to my email that after entering was face timing myself ;I turned it off and went through his interview of which seemed authentic as I have been interviewed for life insurance previously ; he proceeded to ask fo... read more

A Field underwriter with Equis Financial with number XXXXXXX presented himself as a Equis and Foresters Financial representative when he visited my home in July. We discussed a term policy with monthly premiums, total coverage and years of the term. He specified each item and told me how long it would take for the pre-view policy to arrive for me to approve. One week later a packet arrived but it contained the insurance policy/certificate completed by the company with premium amount, term of the policy and total policy value... read more

I have been receiving correspondence from Equis Financial over the past few weeks in reference to a loan! I have not contacted them about a loan and did not know this company even existed. I have contacted them about removing my name and information from their call list and also got a recording. They will not allow you to opt out of their mailings. I want all marketing and contact from Equis Financial to cease immediately and for all time. I will keep check on my credit report and if anything appears in alert or collection w... read more

I received USPS mail stating I have a new loan with a mortgage ID # from a local bank. they gave a PH # ###-###-#### to call to protect the new mortgage. After calling the local bank we determined this is fraud. Then I seen the fin print at the bottom of the page and it indicated "Not affiliated with any lending institution. For further information, contact Equis Financial, Inc at###-###-####. Licensed office located at 83s Tunnel Rd suite A9 Ashville NC 28805. NC license No. ##########, NIPR License No.########

Extremely professional company. Many do not realize that Equis is not the only organization that mails to homes, they are just one of the only organizations that provide their contact information on the mailer. The independent agents, as well as Equis' employees, are all extremely helpful and knowledgeable in this industry. Equis is truly the best insurance marketing organization out there today.

This company uses misleading techniques to get you to open their mailers instead of simply putting their name on the envelopes. What does that tell you about how they operate? I want to be taken off the mailing list permanently as I have no desire to ever do business with the people.
