Empathy House truly changed my life. I’ve been to other programs before, but none compare to the care, empowerment, and long-term support I found here. As a women-only program, Empathy House gave me a safe space to heal, rebuild my confidence, and learn real coping tools for life after treatment. It gave me the stability, guidance, and confidence to continue my recovery and truly thrive. Empathy House didn’t just help me get sober — it helped me start living again.
The program and outline is good. However the D.O.C is Harsh and very judgemental. SO So many rules to follow and constantly stay up on. No room for errors. the assertions are ridiculous. Ok if they were coming from employed Staff but NOT from peers. I think the staff feel the same but cant voice their opinions. in fear of losing their jobs.
I spent 10 days at Empathy House. The pictures that you see on their website are false. In March 2023 I Arrived there to begin my treatment. The bed clothing had blood stains on the sheets. The comforters were so thin and didn’t keep me warm. I had to put comforters under my mattress for some support as to not feel the wood frame. Climbing stairs to do chores was demanding on my body.Going from floor 3 to basement to empty the pails was brutal those were the rules.
