After several years of talk therapy I was not making the progress I wanted. I decided to try EDMR and came across Gulin and EMDR Kitchener through pyschologytoday. I was able to get into treatment quickly and within 6 months I completed treatment. The technique used for EMDR was very different for me, and initially I felt uncomfortable, but as the sessions went on I found it easier to follow instructions, and concentrate on what I was supposed to think about. Definitely better for me than talk therapy, and eventually I felt like we worked through everything and I felt less anxious.

My first session we dove straight into EMDR and I was left with severe anxiety and stuck in my trauma as she left for vacation the next day. This was incredibly careless and unprofessional and could have been a huge liability had I perused legal action.
