Their baked goods are obviously great given that they produce their own flour and are a baking supply store. I also look forward to seeing whoever wins Le Grand Prix Elmendorf du Pain every year. (5/5) However, please improve the strawberry matcha latte or remove it from the menu entirely. It is not a matcha latte but more like regular dairy milk that has a hint of matcha, strawberry milk, and then a bit of strawberry puree at the bottom. A home bakers heaven! Reject making the purchase from bigbadbezos and skip on over to Elmendorf for all your normal and niche baking needs. From fresh ground flours, to quarter sheet pan lids and silpats, to chocolate batons for all your pain au chocolate adventures, Elmendorf has it all. Sure, I’d love to see some vegan baked goods in the case, but, without, I can bake at home with the high quality supplies purchased here.
Elmendorf is unbeatable. I’ve been on the hunt for the best chocolate chip cookie in the area for over a year now and Elmendorf’s chocolate chip cookie has yet to be beat. The eggplant banh mi is also outstanding and worth a try (and I say this as a person who rarely eats eggplant because of the texture).
