Driver said he would be there to pick me up in 15-20 minutes when I called. Shows up 35 minutes later, no apology. Charges me $20 to drive less than a mile, less than 4 minutes. Driver clearly knows this is borderline theft and starts rambling incoherently about how this is how all taxi services do their pricing now (really?) Tells me that they charge a $20 flat fee now, no matter where you go. He tells me if I want to go all the way out to the airport, it's only $20! Had a short time frame to work within on a Monday morning…. Had a flight to catch. Called in 24 hours ahead of time and scheduled our car to the airport. Waited five minutes after taxi was to arrive to call, this is the excuse…..“my boss didn’t tell me anything about this”. We did not have the extra 10 to 15 minutes to wait for the scheduled taxi to come and get us. Borrowed the neighbor’s car and left it at the airport! Now it’s up to them to figure out a way to get their car back home. UGH…..
