I love the Summit branch, all the staff is friendly, and knowledgeable.
I would like to formally report an issue that occurred today regarding a deposit transaction. I arrived at approximately 4:50 PM to make a deposit, and the employee refused to count the money, stating that the bank was closing at 5:00 PM. This was very concerning, as I arrived before closing time and have never experienced a refusal to process a deposit prior to the official closing hour. I deposited a check this weekend 4/25 and wasn't told that the card was not active. They continued with the transaction like nothing.Which is why I had to come back 4/28. Was waiting over 20 minutes for someone to help me. The person in the office (Maria) was with a client talking about personal things, not related to banking with her client. I signed a document and I asked the bank to create the document to a PDF and send it to me and they said that they cannot do that WOW that’s not community service and this is for an urgent case that has to do with someone that’s detained by ICE this service is just a JOB they don’t care about the community
I do all of my banking at the Summit Street branch of Elgin State Bank. I very seldom use the bank drive up. I like to go inside and interact with human beings. The Summit Street tellers are all very friendly & helpful. Several of them know me by sight, & greet me by my first name. I like to be known by my name, & not by a number like big banks. Larry
