I'm now 40 .... however when I was between 13 and 15 I went to the summer camp 2 different times.... I was a troubled child .. and my foster mom got approval to send me to camp... I have some of the best memories.... rare memories... and it helped me to find a calm peaceful place in my heart and mind to always carry with me.... Ekone summer camp is like no other. An amazing program revolves around a deep appreciation for others, yourself, and the land. Kids are transformed here, they find a second home, and all the wonderful things you read and hear about Ekone are really true.
If you are considering a summer camp Ekone is a MUST. It seems cliche but there is a Magic here. It is a place where love of the earth and respect for one another come together. My kiddo attended 2021 Stewardship and seriously had the time of her life! The way she lights up talking about it even weeks later is priceless.
I attended a women's retreat there years ago, when I was about 19 or 20. It was magical and life changing! I felt so connected to the Earth and to my fellow human beings. I knew then, that this is how life should be.
There's a magic at Ekone that is beyond words, a place of gratitude and purposeful intention. It is a place that children can learn who they are and find strength in their own being. My child is now grown and I can without a doubt say that Ekone played a vital role in helping them become the amazing person they are today.
