Tim Villhauer has done a superb job of helping me manage my IRA over the years. He is conscientious about contacting me on a regular basis and advising me of my options when my RMD is due, and suggesting ways I may want to re-balance my portfolio. Traci, his Senior Office Administrator, is also top notch. She is always letting me know if forms need to be completed and if deadlines loom. I left Tim at Edward Jones because he failed to notify me regarding IRS contribution deadlines! The lost deduction cost me thousands in additional income taxes. I am ultimately responsible to walk into the office and bring a check for my contribution! But they are financial advisers and are they not in the business of advising people? I believe a good financial planner would make an effort to inform clients of IRS contribution deadlines.
