Our History Educators Credit Union was started in March 1937 in Racine, Wisconsin, as the Racine Teachers Credit Union. There was no place for teachers to save or borrow money then, so teachers formed a financial cooperative â a credit union. Erwin Wall, the first president, opened his home and took deposits for some of the credit unionâs first members. While a beautiful location, I will no longer be going there. I absolutely hate the fact that they have completely replaced their in-person tellers with automated kiosks. The system held 50.00 of my deposited check, which will be released in 3 days. I have never experienced this kind of issue when dealing with an employee face to face. I am frustrated and disappointed in their decision to cut staffing and put the responsibility on the customer instead of providing the SERVICE to the people who chose to bank with them.
