I opened my first account with ECU in the 1980's when I worked at the Methodist Home, now Methodist Children's Home. I have had checking, savings, automobile, and personal loans over the years. Service has always been friendly and professional. I am told that they have a very low interest rate credit card, too. Their online banking is amazing. It's the best I've seen of 5 or 6 that I have used in the past and the 3 I currently use.

This used to be my go-to bank when they had the young gentleman as manager. Since this new manager has arrived she implements her own policies. When I went to the Robinson branch they denied any such policy that pits holds on GOVERNMENT PAYROLL CHECKS. THE SAME PAYROLL CHECKS IVE BEEN CASHING FOR 20+ YEARS. Not sure if it was because Im Black or not but she has access to all my accounts so she can see those checks would have been covered by my balance in the event they were "bad" checks.
