About this business

"Oh, the Edgewater -- hands down mah favorite watering hole in my neighborhood. The clientele is diverse and friendly; it's never over-crowded, even on a weekend night; there's the rad outdoor seating; $5 burger specials on Thursdays; and then there's Pauly, the friendly barkeep, who plays vintage Kraftwerk and other prog-rock on the stereo." - JP @ Yelp.com

Great Beers, nice staff, ok food Edgewater is actually one of my favorite local bars to go to for some good craft brew. They are one fo the few to have Rogue Beers on tap, and the only bar in Illinois to year in and year out receive the Rogue's rare monthly John's Locker Stock offerings. Lots of other beers on tap - and even a beer on the Firkin every now and then. The food is good, but the only thing that changes on the menu is the prices - watch for those daily specials!

Good Beer, No Pretension I have no gripe with this place. Sure, it LOOKS like a dive, but the beer selection (as I discovered during one of its periodic "beer tastings") is among the city's most enviable. It caters well to high-end suds snobs, but with a no-nonsense, saloon-y 'tude. My brother claims he was hit on here by a creepy older woman, but all the customers I've ever met have been harmless and affable, if a bit blotto. Recommened for those evenings you want a beer, but don't want to rub shoulders with neighborhood sc... read more
