Please stay away from this company and save yourself a headache! Terrible customer service. I rented a car from this company in July 2026. After 5 days, the car wouldn’t start. The agent on the phone told me to “find someone to jumpstart it,” and once a kind bystander helped me, the agent said “there’s no problem now.” They told me to wait until it happens again and then call back, at which point they would send someone from Salt Lake City to Jackson, WY in 5 hours to give me a new rental car. Made a reservation here a month prior to our trip. Arrived and Economy car rental apparently has shut down. Was redirected to another company and stayed on hold for 45 minutes with two kids in 91F heat. Nobody ever picked up. Was forced to rent at the airport location for four times the price! Awful awful experience
Minutes before I was to pick up a car from Economy Rent A Car they canceled saying the car I reserved was being serviced. What? They only have one car? I was left high and dry at the airport. The customer service lady was very unpleasant! Forget Economy!
Wish I could give zero stars. Our flight was delayed and we were obviously late to get our rental at the airport. Gave away our car, leaving us stranded with our children on vacation. Said we didn’t give them notice - we were delayed on an airplane. If you rent cars at an airport, you’d think they’d understand that. THE WORST PART? They are refusing to refund our money for the reservation THEY cancelled. So, they’ve made double the profit while leaving a family in the lurch. Unethical and awful. DO NOT USE THEM. Would not recommend renting a car from Affordable/Economy Rent a car. I booked through expedia and the reservation specified unlimited milage and an 8 passanger SUV. We arrived to find a 7 passanger Suburban with over 110,000 miles and were told that because we were local renters, there was a 150 mile/day limit. Apparently this helps deter local car thiefs?
