They charged me $4,000 for a fairly basic prenuptial agreement. The lawyer spelled my wife’s name incorrectly, then charged me to fix her mistake. When I first met with the lawyer, I told her that I was on a timeframe. I gave her my email, but she said I never did. Rather than her calling me and asking for my email, I had to call her because I was running out of time. I contacted them to figure out how to sell my dead father’s car since they dealt with his estate and got a bill for $245 for a less than 10 minute call and the lawyer asking me to send him an email so he can close the estate. Frankly as lawyers you should have at least told your customers when they will be charged with a bill before continuing to consult them… and charging me $245 for a phone call that lasted 10 minutes is a bit egregious.

Beware money will be spent time will be lost and expectations will missed. My experience was very similar to (Allison Kollhoff) see her post from a year ago below. My case was past off to a different lawyer that I didn’t hire also with no communication after I spent 15k with the first lawyer. all with the plan to charge me twice the fees. I have invoices where I paid one lawyer to talk to another from the same firm that I never hired, charges of conferences with the opposing counsel to settle my case that I was unaware of.
