Since it is against the law to proceed through the mountain without chains, why don't inspectors check for chains. You have a sign that says against the law, but you let trucks proceed anyway. During the last snowstorm, trucks on the road without chains were causing backups and delays.

As I proceeded through the Dumont Weigh Station, the officer directed me to park on the side and bring my documents inside. After the officer went through examination of the BOL, my CDL and the permit book, he said he was conducting a Level 2 inspection, so next we went outside to examine the truck. The examination found no violations of either the vehicle or paperwork. I commend Officer S. Salberg for his pleasant demeanor, his knowledge of the regulations, and his competence in the conducting of an inspection. Thank you!
