Drive Happiness is an amazing organization. I have been driving for the service for 1.5 years and have met so many wonderful people in Lethbridge and the surrounding area that require rides to appointments, to get groceries, to go to the bank, etc. I feel very fulfilled helping these seniors get to their appointments. The seniors are always very grateful and appreciative of the rides they receive.
Seniors should not have to buy a membership before they are guaranteed a ride. Seniors have to purchase a membership and prepay for a return trip ride to find out if they can get a ride to their appointment. If Drive Happiness cannot find a drive to provide a ride you get no refund...UPDATE: after sending an email and a Facebook message, the Drive Happiness ED called me, and provided a refund, but seniors should have to complain in order to get a refund.
Drive Happiness provides safe, reliable and affordable transportation for seniors in our community. It is such an important resource for seniors to have access to transportation when needed. It helps many seniors live independently. The staff are friendly and supportive to each individual and do their very best to make the service convenient and easy for the senior and volunteers. The volunteers are dedicated to each person they serve and I know they do their best. I highly recommend this service for senior transportation.
I volunteered with DH for 2.5 years; mostly during covid. Meeting so many lovely seniors was an amazing, heart-warming experience. These riders are smart, savvy and funny & I loved developing great relationships with them. However, the need for rides is huge. Too much at times to be filled by the volunteer drivers, despite some driving full time.
