We went on a Monday and it was slammed. Apparently it was winter break for the local schools and it was the first really nice day they had. It was nice seeing so many families enjoying the area. They had a massive playground that looked fun and the town was really walkable with lots of outdoor spaces to sit and enjoy the day. The guy at the visitor center was really nice and helpful.
Had been almost 30 years since I'd wandered over to "downtown proper" and it has changed a LOT! Living in the mountains has spoiled us, I suppose. It was clean and pretty...and busy. Not the small town I remember, but better than a bigger city. Shopping seemed a good way to kill some time, and there were restaurants and breweries scattered about. Worth the detour off the main routes, and worthy of a few pictures as well. I was driving, so I couldn't snap any.
Nice shops
Nice little area with shops and restaurants. Wish more was open on Mondays though.
