History Established in 1958. Dover Federal Credit Union was first chartered in 1958 by a handful of Air Force and civilian workers at Dover Air Force Base. Their goal was to create a member-owned financial cooperative, democratically controlled by its members, and operated for the purpose of promoting thrift, providing credit at competitive rates, and providing other financial services to its members. Today, Dover Federal is the largest Credit Union in the State of Delaware, serving over 45,000 members.

I want to highlight the exceptional service I received by one of their phone reps, Deliciah. While other representatives informed me they couldn’t assist, this individual went above and beyond to help me resolve my issue. Their willingness to step in and find a solution truly made a difference. I greatly appreciate their professionalism and dedication to customer support.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience with the DFCU in Middletown, specifically Shanon, who helped us greatly. She provided thorough and timely communication and reached out to follow up frequently. She is efficient, and straightforward and helped to explain things and find the answer if it was something that hadn't been done before. We were very happy with the service from Dover Federal Credit Union.
Manager is aggressive and unprofessional, privacy isn’t implemented as we were discussing an issue in the middle of the bank, not in an office. Manager twists words around and after verbally being told she is intimidating & using jargon (which is confusing to consumers who aren’t in the banking field) 10/10 do not recommend.
Don't obtain a car loan with this bank. They impose fees to pay your car loan online or by phone if you use your checking account or debit card from another bank. Although they offer attractive rates, they compensate through numerous fees. However, if you are a member with a bank account with them, then there are no fees. Then, when I made my final car payment (which I did in person) using my debit card, I discovered later they charged a cash advance fee!
