History Established in 1958. Dover Federal Credit Union was first chartered in 1958 by a handful of Air Force and civilian workers at Dover Air Force Base. Their goal was to create a member-owned financial cooperative, democratically controlled by its members, and operated for the purpose of promoting thrift, providing credit at competitive rates, and providing other financial services to its members. Today, Dover Federal is the largest Credit Union in the State of Delaware, serving over 45,000 members.

Horrible Customer Service, disappointing ......
Most of the people who work here are lovely. However I'm close to closing my account because I'm having way too many problems with their cards. They fraud you randomly, count declined transactions toward your daily limit (so if something glitches and it shows 6 times, that counts), it freaks over third party payment apps, if you have anything done or increased they tell you it expires at 11:59pm, it doesn't, it expires at 8, and I've been complaining about that for two years. Horrible customer service, difficultly getting ahold of a manager, difficultly reaching even an associates. Charges fees and doesn't even guarantee the work.
I recently started my own business in June of 23. I had always heard that DFCU was friendly toward local and small business so I chose them to open my business bank account. From the beginning there have been hiccups. When I deposit checks into my account they are held for long periods before clearing. I have been told that this is due to my account being less than 6 months old so my deposited checks are flagged by fraud. So to be clear, my deposits have been held for 12 days at a time.
