Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. Been wanting to try this place since we moved to HR & saw that it was featured on Triple D. We had the cheeseburger & fries. Very good. Would give the food 4 stars. Service I would rate as a 2. The ladies working the counter & seating areas just were not very pleasant. No smiles or how are you doing today. The only smile I got was from one of the younger girls working the take-out side who was using the machine that was behind the counter. Love stopping in there every chance I can for a BBQ sandwich fries and chocolate shake
This place is wonderful from the burger and fries to the root beer mlkshake which is my favorite , you can't beat the prices ! I have been eateatinv here since I was 4 and I'm 32 now ....many good memories here !!

Victor Doumar gave me my very first job when I was just 17. That was in 1967.Although I had a disability of carring two trays at once he still gave me a chance. I told him I could walk double time and I did. We had numbers back then we put on cars as to know who were waiting on. Lucky #13 was mine. Gave me a good start in life knowing I had confidence to be able to work and pay my way. Al and Victor, wonderful people I 'll always have that memory and Thank you. Draw 1 for you!!! Just left this place. I guess they don't serve black people after 6 pm. I didn't know they had a white only sign up. I was parked for 10 minutes and never acknowledged. Then a truck with white passengers in it drove in and they immediately went to that car. Haven't been there in a long time and don't plan to go back. Thanks for nothing.
Loved the waffle cones and the ice cream. Bbq sandwich was good. Customer service sucked. Won't go back. Not worth the hype.
I've never ate here but my friends used to bring us your sauce. 10/10 would sauce again
