Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. Dounars is iconic! When we pulled up, there was a gentleman making their hand pressed cones. The shakes were delicious! You can get them spoon thick if you want! Burgers are not big, but you can order 2 for less than one costs at your generic fast food place. Service was prompt and friendly. It was fun!

Waited and waited for a menu (i finally went inside to get one), to order, and to get our order. When the food finally came, about an hour after we arrived, it was cold. Went back inside and no one seemed to care. It's very sad to see this place that holds so many memories go downhill. I try to support local businesses but I won't be going back to Doumars.
Horrible service today. Waited forever for a menu, waited forever to order. Got our food and it was all cold. Very annoyed. An hour wasted and I'm still hungry.
Cheeseburgers are way better than any oher place and they put a pice of chese on each side just the way I like it!
