Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. This was our first time here and every thing was delicious. . . will visit again when we come to Va. . . thank you from Winter Park Fl
Something was very wrong Tuesday when we were there about 1:30PM. The servers were disorganized and confused by the slowness of the kitchen. I don't know if a cook was out or what, but it took a long time. When you look around and see a place busy with very few customers eating you should leave. The hamburger was dry like it had been sitting around a while and fries were warm. Lots of confused waitstaff seeming to beg the kitchen to speed up.
Alwat a a wonderful experience!! I usually take an 80yr old friend of mine who has been visiting since she was a child!! Thanks for the old memories for her and new ones for me!!
