Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. The staff is wonderful , food is amazing and the ice cream is tasty! My husband purposing to me here was the cherry on top thanks Doumars !!
I love Doumars! Every time we're going through the area we stop and get this old-school delicious food and ice cream along with amazing service! If there weren't any tunnel fees we would go more often! Lol
Best barbecue sandwich I have ever had. Being from North Carolina and eating from Lexington all the way to the coast this place was amazing. Definitely we be back many times when I visit Virginia Beach.
Cheeseburgers were great and blt. I had a butter pecan ice cream scoop on cone and my daughter had a doube chocolate cone. Always good before the hockey game!
Best limeade; barbeque; grilled cheese; and ice cream in Tidewater. And, a wonderful, friendly staff!
