Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. Oh me oh my... Just go once and you will fall in love with this place. The service, the atmosphere, the prices, and the food gets an A okay!!!!! Thanks for the cuteness of the past in the present!
Great home style food with a pleasant family atmosphere.
Been going for about 40 years, better everytime. Now i take my kids who love it too.
I love the nostalgia of this place. Brings me back to my childhood, and the Ice Cream shakes are the best! Its charming, nostalgic and delicious- so perfect that it was featured on Drive-in, Diners, and Dives. I will definitely return next time I am in town, and I'm bringing friends to share this experience. Franchises are everywhere, but this Mom and Pop gives you an unique experience.
