Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. Lime Aid is awesome, delicious barbecue ,and ice cream with homemade waffle cones....no need to say anything else!

When I went to Doumars there was a Roach the size of my hand crawling on the wall in front of me while I tried to drink my shake. This is NOT an exaggeration. I asked the waitress to cancel my order and she had an attitude and was rude literally the whole time we were in the restaurant. She eventually got her manager who worked with my request. But ultimately the dinning experience was one of the worst I've had.
Great for nostalgia, horrible for service. Sorry guys, but the slow as molasses, dead-eyed hipster server wasn't cuttin' it. It seemed as if the whole staff was asleep. Hope they can pick up the pace and actually look like they enjoy working in a fun place! Too bad :(
Love Doumar's...Have been going there forever! Fun to go inside after events or just sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. And the deserts are delish! Kids love it. Have one grandson who doesn't eat ice cream so he just eats the homemade waffle cone...says it tastes like cookies!��
