If I could leave negative stars I would! This is a BEWARE review to never trust your taxes with Marcus. I started working with him in 2023 to help with a tax audit issue… paid him $1,000 and he took power of attorney and was “handling” my case. It’s been almost 3 years since I’ve been working with him. He is never responsive and has ghosted me 2x as in never responding to voicemails or emails. I hired Marcus Dorsey in 2020 to handle my business bookkeeping and taxes, and paid him and his assistant consistently from 2020 through 2024. In that time, I sat through multiple two-hour meetings signing tax documents I was told would be filed. A lot of that time was spent listening to him talk about his personal life and, on more than one occasion, make comments that felt more like flirting than professionalism. Be careful when seeking services from Dorsey CPA, especially if out of state. When you enter your card info in the portal after receiving proposal agreement, it will automatically take the full quote vs payment plan amount( if you chose to do a payment plan). We agreed to $150 but his parents portal does not have an option to pay another amount. He lied to my bank and said $1800 was a verifiable amount after we discussed a payment plan. I am fighting a claim to get my money returned.This agency is not BBB accredited.

As a previous reviewer expressed, similarly, my experience with Marcus Dorsey's office has been nothing short of frustrating. I too was referred to Marcus from Urban League of Greater Atlanta. I too, prepaid $2500 for tax services, I have contacted him and his office numerous times by email and phone. It is now September 24th and we have an incomplete extension document received in June. Was referred to Marcus from Urban League Atlanta. Prepaid for tax services, 1500 dollars to be exact.Decided to go with another tax preparer. Called for my refund was told I would receive a check in the mail no less than 3 weeks. This happened in June. It is now September 15th I’ve called, texted and emailed. I’ve received correspondence about services but crickets about my refund. This is very frustrating to say the least. I just want my money back.
