Called them today for purchase of a storm door. Got a super cranky person who had no desire to help. She also went on a rant about how it is too cold to have the technician come, even though I mentioned multiple times that I'm in no rush and will wait for warmer weather. Called Door Surgeon and within a week they came out and fixed our doors. Nam was great, very professional, explained what needed to be done and did an excellent job fixing our doors.
I paid for a service call / quote on a storm door replacement and the estimate was VERY high - $2100.00. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they didn't want the job and therefore padded the estimate. Ultimately, I went elsewhere and got the storm door replaced for $800.00.
Terrible experience. The tech was nice, but I was completely ripped off. They charged me $447.32 for very minimal work. It was based on a $139 site visit fee, $250 per hour (1 hour minimum), $37.40 for shop supplies and other little stuff, and 21.32 for tax. The tech was here for approximately 46 minutes, but the amount of time spent actually working was less than that (the 46 minutes included the time speaking to his colleague on the phone about our door handle and the time he spent preparing the invoice).
