My mother had a great experience at Dominion and, because of that, so did her family. She was well cared for and made personal connections among members of the staff at all levels. She made close friends of some residents also and enjoyed activities as she was able- particularly cards. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff who showed deep concern and compassion for all of us.

Staff is very caring and compassionate. The facility is clean and well maintained. The chef does a great job accommodating special diet. There are plenty of activities and outings to do.

A few months ago I took a leap of faith. I loved my current job, but it required me to spend a lot of time away from my daughter and home. I had been there close to 10 years, & I loved it but really needed to be home. A position opened as the Dining service’s director at Dominion where I was lucky enough to meet not only the Executive Director, but the entire Leadership team and Culinary team. My family couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful place for our father! The tour and his Day 1 were fantastic! When he was assessed, Dominion placed him in assisted living. Sadly, after only 4 days, we were told he had to leave or we’d have to provide a 1-on-1 caregiver at approximately $800/day in order for him to remain. The $10k loss hurt, for us, that is. What hurt more was moving our father - another battle for his brain to manage, and the lack of attention and compassion he received when he wasn’t the right fit. All du... read more
