Ridiculously long wait for a vehicle
I booked in advance. I lined up for 2 hours and 20 minutes . I was then told it might take another 45 minutes to get the car. I got the car 25 minutes later. I spent total of 2 hours and 45 minutes just to get the car.
My recent car rental experience was excellent, and I’d like to share it. I rented the car on Saturday night — there was no line at all, the paperwork took just 5 minutes, and I waited another 5 for the keys. I had purchased insurance online in advance and mentioned it right away; there was no pressure or pushy offers for extra services. I was given a higher-class vehicle in excellent condition. Returned it on Sunday afternoon — quick and easy, the whole process took about 5 minutes. Thank you for the great service!
GARBAGE! Reserved a car at a specific time, months in advance. Waited in line for ONE HOUR before being told it would be another 45 min to an hour before getting the car. I had traveled all day, had 2 kids with me, and was exhausted. Had an hour drive ahead of me too. I was told "it's summer. It's busy." Whats the point of reserving a car then?? Now I find out there's no refunds. You better believe I'll take this to every consumer advocacy agency out there. DO NOT USE DOLLAR!!!
I had the car reserved for pickup at 3:15pm. My flight came in late and when I got to the desk the Customer Rep said that the automatic car wash was broken, so they had to manually wash the cars and there wouldn’t be a car available for at least 2 hours. I had an appointment that I had to attend, so I used Uber, which cost a days’ worth of car rental. Two hours later my vehicle was ready, but not the vehicle class I reserved.
