It's a lovely way to spend the day in Skagway. The check-in process is seamless, and you will be on your way soon. The tour is assisted by an iPad that has a GPS to give you information about points of interest on your way. There are several places to pull over for scenic views. You may see some wildlife in various places. There are several waterfalls and beautiful turquoise lakes. The trip takes you into Canada, so you will need a passport (about 20 miles into the trip). The staff were informative, courteous, and efficient! They explain how to use the iPad tour and helped with local businesses to buy sandwiches and other food items.
Excellent idea! Was wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship. Stopping whenever you would like and staying as long as you want for these beautiful pictures along the highway. Not far of a walk from the port, it was easy to get in press play and follow the tour. The iPad was absolutely automatic and would time itself based upon your GPS location to give you a little information of the area you were at. 100% recommend. I would definitely take this tour again.
