I am so disappointed with Distinctive Blinds. I am still waiting for parts of my order submitted 6 months ago, despite being told I'd have installation complete by Christmas (2025). That would have worked well for being prepared for the summer heat. I initially engaged them based on all the good reviews. Things started well - Jo provided excellent advice on colours/fabrics for the mix of blinds and curtains I needed. Then things deteriorated. Karen the director has gone to excessive lengths to avoid warranty obligations. She has admitted the blinds sold where not fit for purpose and is now trying to find reasons to not take responsibility. I suspect financial instability. Please be aware that warranty claims will be thoroughly challenged.
The outdoor blinds sold to us are not fit for purpose. Distinctive blinds aim to avoid responsibility and claim the issue is the shape of our house. They came out to sell, measure and install the blinds- nothing said then? Quick to call for payment, much slower on taking responsibility. Would you pay $18,000 for this?
We chose Distinctive Blinds & Curtains confidently after going through the process of inviting other business’s into our home because of their approach to customer service, good turn around time for the finished product and their value. Other companies stated that they were “ On Sale” and that we would be saving, our experience did not find this to be accurate. The curtains and blinds look great, good quality, and the staff were very friendly and informative. Elliot was so helpful and picked great colours for our home. The price was also fantastic. The only disappointment was in our bedroom. When the curtain was installed, the installer cracked the ceiling because the curtain rod was too wide. As this is a brand new home, we were quite upset.
