Rainbow Federal Credit Union was founded in Lewiston, Maine in 1956. The small town neighborhoods that used to exist when we were first chartered in the 1950's were special; we knew each other, we interacted with one another, and we watched out for each other. We have grown from that small credit union in Lewiston to a multi-location credit union today, with branches in Auburn, Mechanic Falls and South Paris. They're an okay bank but THEIR ATMS NEVER WORK
Opend an account here all for a first time car buyer for wife and they refused to make her an appoint ment in person said she needes to go on line and ask for one. Then never contacted us after fill online aplication untill we called twice. Then after all thaat denied me only after leaving me a message and making me drive in wast my time. We will close our account dont try to use thus credit union to build first time credt. Trash service. The customer service in this Credit Union is absolutely atrocious. The lack or correspondence and communication in the loan and collections department is unacceptable and unprofessional. I had some issues with my truck payment and after 3 weeks of trying to reach out via phone calls with multiple emails and voicemails I still have yet to get any sort of acknowledgment. I've worked for 3 different financial institutions in this state and been a customer of more. This is by far the worst place to do business. Zero effort to serve customers. Zero care about whether their ATMs are down. And do not be in a hurry. You could be the next person in line inside or the drive thru, and you will still wait 20 minutes.
