The official subtitle of DiBruno Brothers is "The House of Cheese," which we validate with a selection of over 200 cheeses year round. Despite our location in the Italian Market, we stock cheeses from throughout Europe and North America. Beyond cheese, we offer a wide array of specialty foods, including the finest assortment of olive oil and vinegar in the city of Philadelphia. You can also find gourmet meats including Charcuterie and our new bacon offerings; plus super premium tuna, antipasti and barrels of imported olives. At our cheese counter you can also take away sandwiches and cold drinks.

Great cheese knowledge. Wonderful staff. If you like any kind of cheese, a must stop. They have many other Italian specialities as well.

Excellent variety of cheeses We wondered through here while on an Urban Adventures tour and were able to sample some of their cheeses. Very tasty. A great place to come to try some exotic cheeses not otherwise found in your local supermarket.

Outstanding Cheese Shop! This place is simply incredible! Amazing Cheese and Italian Specialty Shop! The selection is huge and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They will steer you in the right direction and sample you to make sure you get just the right selections. Can be crowded, but worth the wait. A South Philly Italian Market Landmark. They have expanded with other locations and product lines, but I always like visiting the orriginal store.

On Friday, 8 friends and I participated in the Di Bruno After Hours event at the Italian Market location. I cannot overstate how awesome this was, and what a great time everyone had. Dana and Rich were friendly, knowledgable, and hilarious. The created plates of meats, cheese, preserves, and various other nibbles for two solid hours, and entertained our questions and requests all along. At $70/person, this isn't the least expensive ticket in town, but it's possibly the most fun. If you and your friends/family love food and enjoy learning as you taste, this is the event for you. Plus it's BYO, so you're guaranteed to like what you're drinking that evening. Couldn't possibly recommend this event more enthusiastically!

Say Cheese! Either location offers an excellent selection of cheese. All probably 50% overpriced. DeBruno's has a very good reputation. I found the employees interactions range from often extremely rude to helpful. Should you run into the rude ones my suggestion is to retreat from confrontation and request a manager. This type behavor toward a customer is unacceptable anywhere but especially in the City of Brotherly Love.

Mediocre Take out Recommend by a friend who lives nearby. I noticed there a bunch of ribs stacked up on a counter near the front door. They were uncovered. I pointed out to a manager that it appeared unsanitary to keep that much food uncovered and near a street entrance. The manager said that the food would be served as take out for dinner. I was not impressed since flies could get in from the street and land on the ribs. Overall I found take out food counter refrigerators poorly taken care off. Service was attentive though. I will not go back.

The Hi - Priced Place is a Mess with Exceptionally Rude Customers My experience is common place, the Customers are rude and lack Basic Human Courtesy. They will knock you over to get what they want, as if, they were Superior.

A bright spot in the filthy market This place is a true gem. It is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable professionals. It feels like a trip back in time. The selection of cheeses, meats and accompaniments is extraordinary. Samples are happily offered. The market in which it sits is a sad mess...but it is truly worth the effort to visit.
