My wife and I are both 88 years old. I called the Assessors office to see if there might be a break for old folks. There is, but our income is too high. However, the young man I spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful. I am reminded again of the statement chiseled on the side of the Department of Treasury in Washington, D.C. - "Taxes are the price we pay for civilization."
