I dropped of my tax information first of March 2025, to have our taxes done. I have been with Deerfield Associates for atleast 10 years with great service. This year near the end March a young lady at the office called and stated my taxes were done and gave me a 6 hour window to come pick them up. I was going out the door for work when she called and I informed her I could not make that deadline. I asked for another time to pick them up and she could not give me one. This new business owner is a complete nightmare, avoid this place at all costs. Won't answer the phone, won't return calls, nobody in the office. The place is a ghost town. Dropped off taxes months ago and nothing. I'm just upset they have all my personal information. If I could give 0 stars I would.

My sister and I dropped her taxes off in March. I called mid April to check on the status and advise them of her passing. I was told it would be 3-4 more weeks but she would call when they were done. On July 18th I went to the office after not getting any phone calls and they were sitting on a book shelf and supposedly finished on May 27th. I paid the fee so they could be e-filed to complete the process and as of today, September 25th, it is still not done as the IRS has no return. Avoid this place. I was a client for about 15 years. This was once a reputable CPA firm. Things have drastically changed under new ownership. I have had to file complaints with the Virginia board of accountancy and notify the IRS. I am glad I took my bookkeeping somewhere else.

Deerfield Associates Inc was sold in October 2023 and the corporation was closed. Four out of the five employees left within eight months along with many of the clients. Was a wonderful full service accounting firm but things have dramatically changed since the sale.
