If I could give a zero to this inept and corrupted firm I would. I started out with DL many years ago with a good advisor. I was looking for muni bonds where I can protect principal and gain dividends to invest. With the dividends, I reinvested into various offerings. One was the APLE REIT which was not liquid. I had time on my side so I did not mind. I asked when APLE would become liquid and was "told 3-5 years". Well 3-5 years turned into greater than 10 with calls for class action suits. Very shady and very good at holding your money for as long as they possibly can. Advised them end-April 2022 that my mom passed and that her children were beneficiaries of her annuity. Provided all the necessary paperwork except for one thing that it took me making a phone call to find out that there was a missing document. Here we are, end-August 2022, and none of us has gotten our money yet. Fidelity, on the other hand (same annuity situation), very professional, monies paid in a timely manner.

I agree with the minus stars like Steve H. Stay away from these commission hungry advisors who advise for themselves not the clients. Apple was put on the stock market after telling clients it would be sold back.Instead I took a tremendous loss due to this split and pandemic. I was also sold GABELLI FUNDS a dog fund I am told that just pays high taxable dividends and has no growth. I was told it was a UTILITY FUND only to find out it is also in communications and energy. These guys are so honest. When my elderly parent tried to open a new account with them it would have been easy to just take the money as other unscrupulous firms would have. But feeling uneasy about it they called his financial power of attorney and presented some limited options but were clearly still watching out for their potential clients' interests and not their own. This has not been my experience with other financial advisors in NY who only worry about their own commissions.

If I could give MINUS stars I would. They are scammers who prey on unsophisticated investors (like me). Their APLE REIT (now publicly traded) is worth 1/4 of what it was after they did a reverse split when it went public. With dividend now suspended APLE is the WORST investment I've ever made. Stay away from them.
