While on vacation in Maui visiting family, I was interested in photographing places with someone who knows Maui well. I have been a fan of Daniel’s work, following him on social media. I decided to take a photo workshop, not only to get some great pictures but also to meet Daniel and get to know him a bit. I booked a photo tour/lesson with Daniel after wandering into his shop while meandering around Makawao. Wow! Simply amazing work on display. Come to find out during our chat that he also does photography tours, with a variety of options for genres/locations/durations. Signed up on the spot for a celestial shoot (located at a very cool spot on the South Shore). I had done some prior reading on Celestial photography, but had no prior experience. I spent the day going to Hana with Daniel. I’m a very new photographer with a lot to learn. He is patient, very helpful and extremely knowledgeable! One goal I had was to learn smoothing water and got that almost immediately. He shared composition hints, technical information, showed me how to use focus bracketing, taught me how to shoot panoramas without an tripod and took me to beautiful places I hadn’t been before. It was a great day and I highly recommend shooting with Daniel. You won’t be disappointed.

I’d give Daniel 10 stars! Going to Maui is a wonderful experience, the photo tour with Daniel made this trip absolutely incredible and unforgettable! A once in a lifetime experience ! ( well, hopefully not! I’d do another one next visit!) I respect Daniel’s artistic and creative talent and was grateful to him for showing us photo tips on our iPhone and showing us beautiful unimaginable places on Maui! Loved it! Mahalo Daniel!
