Disappointing service with poor quality and communication. Difficult to reach and not recommended.
Honesty, decency, accountability non-existent, starting squarely at the top with the little man. What a mess. James M is dead on. Run.
AVOID- AVOID- AVOID!!!! Working with Smallwood & Associates ended up being one of the biggest financial mistakes that our small business made. This firm doesn't value long-term relationships- they will do their best to extract every dollar from you. In my opinion, I was grossly overcharged by several thousands of dollars. Such a negative experience with this organization I don't even know where to begin. Complete lack of communication once we got through the onboarding process. Absence of transparency for pricing is frustrating, especially when the hourly rate is above market (and never told to us up front despite asking several times) and the number of hours billed makes no sense. Very frustrating experience start to finish. The seem to be only interested in large companies that pay the type of fees that make communication and tax planning efficient. Smaller businesses and persona tax customers clearly are not a focus or area of interest for Smallwood.
