We had a bad experience at Cyprus Point.. the facility is dirty and smells bad ..as a retired RN I will say the patient care was not good either .. my husband was to get a shower with staff help it never happened until I said I won’t pick him up at discharge unless he receives a shower finally they did it ..not once while I visited did anyone stop in the check on him knowing he has later stages of dementia …his bathroom was dirty and had dirty washcloth that sat on the floor in a basin for 3 days he was there …except for a f... read more

It’s been a little over a year since my mom’s discharge from Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington NC. As she continues to heal in the comfort of her home, I often think of all the wonderful staff and residents who were involved in her initial recovery. It is unfortunate a facility like this exists. What’s insane is that it’s over $8,000 a month for a SHARED bedroom. The rooms are filthy, residents have complained that they skip meals because the food is horrible. They are short staffed EVERYDAY. The call bell alarm is beeping non-stop and the residents have to listen to it beep while trying to sleep ( try a call bell phone…not something everyone hears). 1 nurse per hall ( a hall can have over 20 patients). My husband is at Cypress point He went in for one to two weeks of rehab. He has now been in there 30 days. They will not call you back. They will not talk to you. Nobody knows anything about anything. They put a catheter in him instead of doing a test on him to find out what was going on, they did not do that. He was in there for rehab. They would not get him out of bed for the first two weeks. he is 85 years old. They put him in a diaper on day one. He would ask for someone to help him to the bathroom.
