Terrible business practices! I called this bike shop on the morning of Aug. 20th, 2008 and asked specifically if they had a 2008 Giant Sedona DX, Lg frame, in stock. The young man on the phone said they had 2 or 3 in stock, so the wife and I drove in 30 miles to Worth, IL from Peotone, IL that afternoon. When we got there, I spoke with the same guy I talked to earlier on the phone. He could not find the bike I called about (not in stock) and tried playing it off that by saying that he thought I wanted another model. After te... read more
Great buying experience X 2 I purchased 2 bikes from Cycles N Sports, Giant Cypress bikes, specifically. They were not only accommodating in that they stayed open even though we came in 5 minutes after closing time, but also fixed my bike rack as I had it on wrong. The service with the sale was great and this is a nice group of people to work with. I purchased each bike on separate occasions and both times they were helpful and informative.
Improving Service I have had several experiences with Cycle-N-Sports: Some good, some bad! I have an old mountain bike. When I first did business there (mid 2007), my rear wheel needed a new rim and restringing. While a bad experience elsewhere (my bike had the "old" more narrow axle, which the other shop didn't recognize), at Cycles-N-Sports, I was pleasantly surprised when the "kid" not only recognized the axle issue, but prattled on for 15 minutes about the changes and differences in wheel hub sizes and designs.
