I was so disappointed with the result of my Kathmandu coat that I sent off to be dyed. They phoned me after they received my coat to discuss the process and advised the best result would be achieved by a custom dye job. My coat was grey and I wanted to achieve black. I specifically rang before posting my coat to them to confirm they could dye down puffer coats. I was told yes.
