Every single professor that I have had so far recommends buying textbooks elsewhere because of how horribly this bookstore overprices everything. The Physics textbook that they price at $200 for is only $50-70 if you buy from online sellers. I know Cuesta does not run this place (Barnes and Noble does), but this bookstore goes directly against what Cuesta stands for - making college affordable, convenient, with a fantastic support system. Buy everything you can online - you will save hundreds each year!
I went in to get books a week before the start of the semester. Google says the bookstore is open till 3 and I get there at 1:50. I get told the bookstore is closed even as an employee is helping me find a book and she says “you’re not allowed here.” I then check out at another register at the bookstore and ask about the hours and the guy said it is open till 3. So which is it? I took a 40min drive and the system was down so I couldn’t even get the books. I’m confused and that was a waste of time
Had to drive 45 minutes twice to pick up a code. Person working online order desk was abrupt, borderline rude. They are NOT open on Fridays even though the website says they are and the campus operator said they would be open. Waste of time, trusting that the store's hours on the website would be correct. Their phones have been "broken" all quarter. They did answer an email within the time they said they would.
End of school year sale (even on t-shirts) was a nice surprise.
