I’ve always had respect for Mayday Hospital (aka CUH) as they have cared for my whole family over the years. Last week, however, my mum was brought into Emergency Department with pneumonia. Due to cuts, she spent two nights being administered her meds in the waiting room & I had to take her to get her X-ray! The staff are overwhelmed as there’s not enough staff or porters but there is more security!! Please Be patient with the staff & know that if your loved one is going in, someone needs to be there with them.xx

Attended Croydon Elective surgery and was seen by Said Mohamed and his team who are lovely people, who made an anxious me feel more relaxed and at ease while they carried out their duties in a professional, efficient and pleasant manner. Grateful to them.

The staff in A & E were brilliant with my elderly step dad, who had a fall. We don't know how the nurses and doctors cope in that war zone, but they are fantastic.

My 83-year-old mum was admitted by ambulance on 11th January 2026. On arrival, she was placed in a corridor alongside many other patients. When I arrived at 7am on 12th January, she was still there. However, this was far more than just a corridor — it had effectively become a makeshift ward. There was a doctors’ station, a water station, and visitors were even offered cups of tea.
