Absolutely beautiful hostel, lovely rooms, plenty of space and set in a gorgeous location. We booked the whole hostel for a weekend social event with friends and it was perfect. There are a variety of different spaces and different sized rooms which are perfect if people are doing different things. The kitchen area was brilliant with everything we needed and the main dining room provided the perfect space for socialising and a saturday night disco! Great point to start a North Yorkshire Moors periphery cycle ride. Car parking for the ride catered for, comfy low cost accommodation, good food, space and personable staff service.
My regular walking group stayed at the Cote Ghyll Mill YHA in September 2025 and we found everything about it to be of the highest quality, including comfortable and well-appointed rooms, fantastic breakfasts and really friendly staff. It's also located in a lovely part of the North York Moors, an excellent location for hiking and day trips. We will definitely be returning!
Handy half way stop when going south or as a break by itself. Lots of good walks. Clean, bright and friendly staff make for a super experience. Only that I don't like are the rubber sheets on the bed - expected but they are a bit hot to sleep on.
