Unprofessional and unresponsive. He would only email my ex when we were filing jointly and not copy me in the emails even after I repeatedly asked him to. There have always been errors but we stayed with him for years. Why?? If he’s too busy to return calls or review forms for errors he needs to delegate to his staff. How hard is that? Honestly I think he needs to retire. Reading other reviews on yelp, it sounds like his best years are behind him.
I was referred to Costello Tax Associates by family, who have used their services for years and always spoke highly of them. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. Communication was extremely poor from the start, and I struggled to get any updates or responses. I later realized that my taxes were never even filed, which is a serious issue. I attempted multiple follow-ups and still received no response. Overall, very unprofessional and disappointing experience. I would not recommend their services.
I highly recommend hiring John for MA state and federal tax returns. We live in Somerville and found him randomly as we drove by his office. He has now been preparing our complicated tax returns for over 10 years and we've never seen a mistake. Yes, his consultation time is limited during the tax filing season, but he and his team are busy getting all our returns done on time! I appreciate his prompt turnarounds and accurate work.
Costello Tax is the best, they are absolutely wonderful and take care of everything! John is outstanding!
