I was in Skokie in a landlord tenant eviction case and I have to say that the public defender was very helpful. He pointed out immediately that no written lease means you are on a 30day notice -no 5day no 10day notice like the landlord had sent me. There is no animal such as a verbal one year lease. It was as simple as that.
