Tough to access Tried for 2 hours to reach the nearest place to drop my elderly mother off with her walker and then go park and meet her. Saturday morning the road closed to cars, which is great unless you are walking impaired. It was incredibly difficult to access and would not recommend if you are with someone who can’t walk well, unless you know the place and its quirks.

Wonderful place to unwind. These grounds and greenhouse are well maintained with a great collection of flowers. My wife loved all the orchids. Easy to overlook this stop with so much else to see but definitely worth it.

I grew up going to the Conservatory, the Japanese Tea Garden and the Cal Academy. I was a very lucky child. The Conservatory always has interesting educational exhibits and is a lot of fun.

An Oasis of Peace You need to buy a ticket to visit the Conservatory of Flowers on the John F Kennedy Drive within the large spaces of the Golden Gate Park. Ordinarily $9 for an adult, $6 for a Senior Citizen like me! It is divided into five distinct galleries. Each worth speaking time. A very quiet and relaxing place. Indeed an oasis of peace away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The flowers were beautiful and the conservatory, which by the way is 140 years old, is extremely well maintained. I must add for the benefit of senior citizens that there are rest rooms attached to this location.

Orchids! This Victorian style greenhouse in the Golden Gate Park should not be missed. Beautiful orchids and carnivorous plants.
