I went to the Meriden location to make a deposit to their affiliate credit union and to scope out this location to possibly set up a new account. I struggle with multiple disabilities so it was frustrating that the front end of the branch was unmanned. My husband found an employee in a back office who brought us to a kiosk to speak to a remote teller. My father died over a year ago, I closed out his account and had NO balance due. They even owed me a small amount they made a check out for, under $5.00. Now, a year later, I received a letter saying my deceased father owes $26.97. In my efforts to dispute this error, calling and getting a human to answer is a magical feat. 15 minutes of useless automated voices and pressing buttons for nothing. Not specific to this branch, but overall this CU feels more like a bank:Long wait times on the phone, surprising fees. I had a small positive balance leftover from an auto loan and was charged $10 within 30 days worth of inactivity fees. I was told that is the way fees work and no refund would occur. I'm not sure I'm moving my business here.
Was put on hold for over 30 minutes. While I was on hold, I tried to see if I could solve my issue online and was constantly redirected to an error page on Connex’s website. When a representative finally picked up, they breathed on the line for 2 seconds and hung up. When I called the customer service number back the office was “conveniently” closed. Terrible credit union overall and would give negative stars if possible.
