As a Rabbi of a prominent Long Island congregation, I had a rare opportunity of attending a Sabbath Morning Service in St. Pete, FL. and was extremely impressed by its lay led service (Service leader, Rabbi, Cantor, Torah Reader etc.). This was the synagogue we attended when we were kids of the 80's. I went to Hebrew school HERE before we moved to Israel when I was almost 9 years old, for 3-4 years. Which Nothing could prepare me for the culture shock difference, however it meant the world to me to Finally find out We weren't the Only ones of this culture bc of how we're "typically" raised in America. In Israel it's different & we're Not condemned for Anything as kids. When we moved to Isreal, I finally Knew, This was where I belonged. This place/ my child... read more
