The original customer service person I spoke to, told me Maryland could take as much money (possibly $600/month) as they felt necessary each month. I am lower income and would have ended up broke. She said it was up to her supervisor.

Since I had a hold of renewing my license and the comptroller's office closest to me had no open appts. until mid Sept., I took an Uber, the Metro, and a FlixBus all the way to Annapolis to resolve this situation since getting them on the phone was all but impossible for months. I find it crazy how I owed 811 this year, got 1000 back, so I sent 811 straight from my account to them, just for them to send a letter in the mail saying that it bounced, crazy that it bounced when my account definitely had the hit. Got a receipt to prove it too, so sucks that they can't keep track of money but I'll be damned if I'll pay then another 811 that was already paid, Ill take this to court if need be. Ready to move out of state at this point.
