What a bureaucratic waste of time and energy! All I wanted to do was drop off a return. The rep at 1-800-MDTAXES told me to drop off at this location for quicker processing. I had no questions, no need to talk to anyone. Just a drop off. Apparently there's a new office policy posted on signs all over the office that everyone, including return drop offs, needed to be seen by someone in back office. Why? Even dumber ... I went next door to USPS and paid $8 just for the same package to be sent to the same office.
I paid what they said I owed — done, settled, finished. Then months later, another letter shows up demanding more money out of nowhere. I tried to pay it through their useless online system, and it’s nothing but endless error messages. No one answers the phone, no one fixes anything, and the problem just keeps circling back like a bad joke. I haven’t lived in Maryland for over a year, yet they keep digging for more money like it’s some kind of scam. Inefficient wouldn’t even be able to describe this organization and the office located at 60 West Street. Expect to spend at least 1.5 hours in this office when you come to the office.
I'm not sure who's the head person in this office but some needs to be held accountable for their mistakes. I was denied a tax refund because of identity theft. I submitted what was requested the first time I received a email saying my case was completed and no further action, a week later. They requested more information . Why wasn't this asked the 1st time ? I have no clue. Why did I receive the email saying nothing else was needed I have no clue. The IRS wasn't this messy. So now I have to go back for the 3rd time.
