October 9, 2025. Went to Compton in Renton, site was fenced and locked. Not open. Call to their number does not go through. Is the Renton location closed permanently?
I purchased from Compton lumber a few times in the past five years. I like their selection. However, last time I went, they had shut down their Seattle location and moved everything to a hanger in Tukwila. Today I needed a few items and when I got there at 10 AM, the doors were shut and the phones were off. Avoid this place. Unreliable opening hours. Did they close?
What happened? They're closed - phone doesn't work, gates are locked...
Cromptons stock 2x4’s use to be beautiful, today I visited and their #2 was like the bunkest of the bunk. They do have a higher grade but at over a buck/ft, not practical for most applications
